I don't know if anyone else will agree with me here, but personally I believe the Trance explosion of 1999 was spearheaded by three individual tracks:
System F - Out Of The Blue, Gouryella - Gouryella & Veracocha - Carte Blanche.
It is no surprise to know that Ferry was leader in all three megahits, and many more besides.
Of course, we can thank Tiesto, de Moor & many others for their input with the collaborations, but just listen to the tracks!
Pure Corsten.
Truly the innovator of the Trance golden age. The sound we embraced as the millennium happened.
Good times!

Ferry is easily the best thing to come out of The Netherlands in recent memory. Can't get enough of his infections beats. Word of caution though, if you're thinking of contributing anything at all release wise to this artist's Discogs entry, think again. Overly protective and obsessive fan dancemania has it all on lock down and will pounce on even the slightest change you make to anything.

i believe 'interspace' by the 'discodroids' is his best record though, classic, amazing uplifting trance heaven ! And before that trance went stale around end 1998.

I would like to say now, if it weren't for those old Ferry Corsten productions and remixes, i probably wouldn't be a DJ right now. Yes, thats how good those 1998/1999 tracks of his were. There are too many to mention. It's safe to say that he definitely inspired a generation of clubbers and DJ's - myself included.
His tunes have aged so well, they still sound as fresh today as they did in 1999. Others have tried to copy his sound but no one has come remotely close. I have seen him at Gatecrasher, Godskitchen and various other club nights and he is a very down to earth guy who loves his music. Ferry Corsten, we thank you.

Ferry can only be described as a genius, the Rotterdam based producer has been making Trance for many years, and is possibly the best producer to come out of Holland. He has taken abit of a backseat right now with other Dutch producers taking the limelight the most notable are Dj Tiesto, Armin Van Buuren, Roland Van Gelderen, Cor Fijneman, and Misja Helsloot, But the flying dutchman is still popping with tunes under various guises, Gouryella and System F to just name to of them. The man can only be described as the "God Of Trance".
