J. A. Cummings first started listening to electronic music at a young age. His father was a fan of Kraftwerk, and so in turn J.A. Cummings became very fond of the 1981 release "Computer World". Cummings' music is not a reflection of 1980's electro by any means, but it has inspired him to think of music in a whole different way, to challenge the norms, and create something adversely different.
