Blackout (9)

Blackout made a name for himself in 1994, locking down Memphis with his unique sound. He gained notoriety by moving a lot of music in neighborhood and local car stereo stores. These tapes included Lil Slim's "Robbery, My Specialty",Playa Posse's "Bigga N Betta Thangz", Guice's "Ashesoffmyblunt", "Maysroad Kartel",and his ever so popular "Dreamworld".
While releasing underground projects , Blackout collaborated with cousins Guice and Eli, creating the notorious "Snubnoze Muzik" label. After they teamed up, this marked the beginning of a flood of releases such as Snubnoze's "Off Safety", including the hit single "Boyz in the Woodz", Terror (self-entitled), which included the Memphis anthem "Yes", featuring Gangsta Blac. They also released Blackout's "Under The Influence" Take I and II, Snubnoze's "Digital Gravel", Blackout's "Make Em Pay" and a stream of many more releases.

Blackout is a true legend - and one of the most underrated of all time imo

Freaking Blackout, one of the best from memphis and also my favorite. Just go listen to Dreamworld, it's seriously one of the greatest tapes to ever grace my speakers, and I've heard alot. His later albums are pretty good also, mostly production wise, but I don't think he'll ever overthrow such a monumental classic like Dreamworld. Not a putdown on his later career, just a compliment on how incredible his memphis days were.
