The name of the band is believed to be inspired by French painter Eugene Delacroix's famous art work The Barque of Dante, which was based on Dante's Divine Comedy. This band's first full-length album, Final Victory, was recorded during the big earthquake on May 2, 2009 in the band's hometown, Mianyang. During the earthquake, recording equipment were almost all damaged and so were the finished tracks. Band members started the whole project again and finally came out the album which was dedicated to all the victims of the disastrous earthquake.
After the release of Final Victory The was dropped off the bandname and continue on as Barque Of Dante.
