Born October 21, 1772 at Ottery St.Mary, Devonshire. Died July 25, 1834 at Highgate, London.
English poet, critic, and philosopher. Co-founder with William Wordsworth of the Romantic Movement. Probably best known for his poems The Rime of the Ancient Mariner and Kubla Khan, as well as his major prose work Biographia Literaria.
Not to be confused with Samuel Coleridge-Taylor (1875-1912), Afro-British Composer, Conductor & Professor.
