Beginning as a teenager in 1994 in Perth grindcore/noise band "Mindless Shit" as a terrible drummer and industrial noise wannabe, then more seriously in 1998 as a promoter for the Perth punk rock scene, Boris began experimenting with analogue noise and soundscapes as a member of Perth noise band "Analogue Seaotter"
After Analogue Seaotter disbanded he released a limited cassette as "Boris Otterdam" before co-founding Perth's first breakcore/experimental label 8-Bit Recordings with The Last Ninja and Deadcode in 2000.
8-Bit Recordings was the first label of it's kind in Western Australia and was responsible for organizing the first ever breakcore shows in Western Australia.
Boris has played in, collaborated with, remixed for and managed bands, self published zines, written for and assisted in designing local music websites, zines, blogs an various publications, released cassette compilations, organized and promoted punk rock, noise, breakcore, hardcore, goth, industrial, grindcore and indie shows in Perth, Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane as well as hosted and co-hosted the final incarnation of System Corrupt Radio Show on 2serfm Sydney, Illegal Frequencies on 2serfm Sydney, Illegal Frequencies on 2serfm Sydney and RRRfm Melbourne and Fuck You and Yours and Brass Knuckles from 2004-2013.
As of 2015 he is based in Tweed Heads on The Gold Coast where he runs Australian label "Ende Records" and freelance writes for various online blogs.
As well as Noistruct, Boris produces various other styles of music, writes, draws cartoons and plays in the band "The day The Music Died" with members of Hits and Raygun Mortlock.
