The Ivory Moans was formed in December 2014 as a studio project based upon songs Davis M. Shubs had been writing for the entire year. Elio Disabitino contacted Shubs' casually to jam who coincidentally had been trying to recruit the perfect studio band for very specific parts he had already laid the groundwork for. Elio and Davis collaborated for weeks before finally getting some sessions in with a top notch horn section comprised of Vernon James, Ray DiVirgilio, and Reid Kelley. One of the most ironic things about these particular sessions was the chemistry that brewed between both former Berkley players Ray and Vernon. Separated by about thirty years, Ray the veteran and Vernon trade solos and terrorize tracks with Reid Kelly; who hoists his shining Trumpet licks bright over the thunderous horn section. Also on the tracks we're guest appearances from close friends of Shubs, such as: Gustavo Rocha, Kevin Cross, Al Holden, James Everheart(Low Cut Connie), and Paul Fenlon. After over a year of experimenting and rigorous sessions Produced by Shubs' the First Album By Ivory Moans Called Case File 666/Booty Cauldron is due out July 3rd 6th.
A small regional tour will give audiences a quintet version of the band through the spring and the summer seasons.
