Thorvald Fredin

Thorvald Fredin (born 28 February 1928 in Soderhamn, died 22 October 2006 in Bromma) was a Swedish double bass player. Fredin studied at the Royal Academy of Music 1947-1952, and joined the Royal Opera in 1952 and was their first solo bassist 1958-1991. He was a teacher of double bass at the Academy of Music 1961-1993, and from 1990 also in methodology. Fredin elected as No. 813 of the Royal Academy of Music February 24, 1977 and was appointed professor in 1990.
Soloist Thorvald Fredin was Professor of Double Bass at the Stockholm College of Music.
