In short: Rephlex doesn't exist anymore. It is up to the artists wether or not they want it rerelased. Most didn't (RDJ included)

I don’t believe that to be true any longer. Many originals still sell for far more than their reissues. Regardless, anyone that doesn’t own an original won’t ever care in any way how it affects the original. The whole point here is to LISTEN to the music, not hoard.
I have to believe Richard would care about more people hearing his music, or they wouldn’t continue to repress several of his top classics, nor would he ever perform live. What would be the point of releasing music physically in the first place if you don’t care about people hearing it?

No, but reissues certainly debase the value of the release always.
I'm sure Richard could care less about doing reissues, however.

I’m not following how collectors factor in to whether RDJ reissues or not. Are you saying RDJ wants his albums to have a high collectible value?

The value drops which isn't a good thing for OG collectors. Also, CD format gets released almost yearly.

That sort of information is what I’m curious about. Why is it unlikely anything would be reissued off of Rephlex? RDJ no longer owns? He doesn’t want it ever being released and has stated such?

depends on what you want to be reissued unlikely to reissue anything on rephlex such as bradleys beat/robot, the tuss, universal indicator or analords or analogue bubblebath series etc

no it was only released on his soundcloud account and the afx shop he did record it onto metal tape cuz he loved the track that much he bought a portable walkman to listen to it feel free to get a bootleg copy printed though :)

I'm so thankful that I found Richard's music in the mid 90's. Been listening to it ever since. An amazing artist. He has definitely had a profound effect on not just electronic music, but, other genres of music too.

November 30, 2020The Boards of Canada reissues went well as far as I could see. The same can be said for the Autechre reissues, and Biosphere is doing well with reissuing his albums. Why can’t we see full Aphex reissues, box sets, etc?
Is he against it? Warp doesn’t want to mess with it?
