Kraftwerk

Profile:
German group formed in Düsseldorf in 1970. Formerly known as Organisation, Kraftwerk debuted live as the trio of Ralf Hütter, Florian Schneider-Esleben and Charly Weiss at the Tivoli Popfestival, Aachen on 11 July 1970. Klaus Dinger then took over as drummer. Gigs between 26 December 1970 and 31 July 1971 omitted Hütter, with various line-ups including Michael Rother and others. After a gig in the Weserberglands of Germany on 31 July 1971, Dinger & Rother then split-off forming Neu!. Shortly after, Hütter returned. First known Hütter/Schneider gig is 22 November 1971 at the Sachsenwald Gymnasium, Hamburg.

This guerilla group of futurist sonic poets is armed with influential schall expressionism and is highly dangerous. Do not approach them, and cover your ears if you recognize the soft sines of Moog; if you don't, you will become mentally transported to an alternate timeline of the future that spit-away late 70s and went on for about half a century longer than now, where order has been achieved, but at the expense of lion's share of humanity. While there, you might actually begin believing things like that you are becoming aware to being controlled and programmed externally from media such as television, to behave in certain ways and be a compliant unit, or that your value as a human is being continually artificially diminished as a result of pre-meditated actions. Nonsense, is it not?

Q: What have Kratwerk and Black Sabbath got in common?

A: A string of classic albums, of course.

Much is said, too, about the iconic and influential nature of boths bands, which is very true (and no slight to Giorgio Moroder or Deep Purple!) but we keep listening to them because they're fun, and whle their icon status feeds their continuing popularity it remains based on their music working its magic on us still.

Rocking tf out to Techno Pop right now... on to The Mix next... dancing while I do housework lol

What a sad thing to hear. Electronic music was never the same after these guys came onto the scene, and Schneider was such a driving force in making music better. I hate that he is no longer with us, but his wonderful music will be with us forever.
