Gerson King Combo
Gerson was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro, RJ, Brazil, began the artistic career doing voice acting, the famous program "Today is Rock Day" presented by "Jair de Taumaturgo" then his brother Getúlio Cortes (author of "Negro Gato" a success in the voice of Roberto Carlos) took him to dance in the Jovem Guarda program, presented by none other than Roberto himself.
Influenced by black music, Gerson sang in bands Erlon Chaves and Simonal, the band "Formula 7" and was part of the embryo of Banda Black Rio.
Solo adopted the name Gerson King Combo (allusion to a band of soul music called King Curtis Combo).
