Amazing Dj, i have cassettes of him playing when there wasn't much tailor made " chill out " music around, he's playing Jean Michel Jarre, Marianne Faithful, Jevette Steele, Penguin Cafe Orchestra, Paco De Lucia, Art of Noise, jon and Vangelis etc and its truly wonderful.
The music Jose made was also wonderful, i have all of his albums and they are all worth a purchase, they always bring a little spanish sunshine to rainy british days. Jose through his music and sets at the Cafe Del mar brought serenity to millions of people, what a honourable legacy to have left to the world, OM MANI PADME HUM.

Just as the soft rains fill the streams,

Flow forth to awaken and heal all beings,

Larry Levan was disco. Frankie Knuckles was house. Jose Padilla was chill out.

To have your name be associated that the very mention of your name means a genre or a mood is a tremendous compliment to your dj career. Jose did that.

We will miss you Jose. I hope we all can one day hear you dj at a sunset in the afterlife. Respect and RIP
