Billy Barton

Billy Barton

aka Hillbilly Barton. Born 1929 in Kentucky, died 2011 in Florida. 1952 first recordings for Abbott Records, together with the untill then unknown Johnny Horton. In 1954 he married the singer Wanda Wayne and recorded a few duets with her.

1955 he signed to King Records (3). In 1958 he released his first Rockabilly singles on the small Fire label.
In 1962 he used the pseudonym / alias "Laurel London" to release "Don't Knock The Rock".

Later was a songwritter for Benny Martin and Rose Maddox. His most famous composition was "A Dear John Letter".
