Robert Summerhayes

Profile:

Moved up through the ranks to become manager, of 1 of the UK’s finest ever underground record stores Eukatech Records. Has his roots set firmly in deep electronic music, dipping in and out of all styles, encompassing quality deep house, techno, tech house and electronica. Sound is varied, never obvious, but always engaging and stimulating in depth.

Built a reputation as a serious quality underground DJ, promoter and party organiser, most notably alongside Asad Rizvi and the Reverberations label, around 2002. Rob and Asad also started and ran the highly engaging and influential ‘Get Groovy Reverberations Shows’ on Groovetech Radio, that are truly stunning, masterpieces, and were priceless journeys into what was happening around the 2002-era. In the areas of classic house, London deep house, London tech house, and essentially, the musical clash between London and the West Coast of America, at the time. They were instrumental in sourcing, playing and promoting some of the finest records from the golden years of 1999–2003. On occasion playing very long sets, of 6 hours or more… frequently playing back-to-back, with other closely associated DJ and musicians, like Swayzak, Konrad Black and Layo & Bushwacka! They also both played at the Sizzle boat party, along the River Thames, in 2004.

Rob and bother Richard Summerhayes started and ran the Get Groovy label, releasing and promoting the finest house, deep house and tech house from the early 2000-era, from the likes of Dano, Melanie, Souldoubt, Haris Custovic, Dennis Ferrer, Calum Walker, and Alexi Delano. That once again substantially helped fuse and communicate with a larger audience, the golden-era wave that was going on the West Coast of America and the U.K. scenes, around 2003.

Around 2008, he became a resident for the Warm Agency, a London-based DJ agency, events, promotions, artist management, brand consultancy and club night, that works exclusively in the U.K., and with Germany’s Sonar Kollektiv.

Has played at the club Fabric multiple times, also the Stop Making Sense (SMS) Festival boat party in Croatia in 2011. And throughout London and well beyond.
