Head Resonance

Head Resonance

Profile:

HEAD RESONANCE is an experimental vocal music project which was established 1979 by Peter Elsner and Benjamin Heidersberger as a part of the interdisciplinary art and research project Head Resonance Company.

As Head Resonance Company they debuted with a few cassettes on the Transmitter label and more self-released tapes, playing a hybrid experimental new-wave meets art-house music.
As just Head Resonance, they more befit their name, performing purely avant-garde vocal works, a strange twist on Tibetan vocal musics, akin to David Hyke's Harmonic Choir.
Usually they also employed guest musicians as well.

All composition were developed during improvisation sessions. All recordings were made with a triaxial stereo microphone ( Sennheiser Kunstkopf ), therefor all productions are mixed for headphones.

During the improvisation sessions they used a delay machine which is supporting the possibility to create floating rhythmic structures and transformations.

One of the main research question of HEAD RESONANCE is: "How does the human conciousness react to repetition and transformation?"
