Surprised nobody mentioned that one half of Air Liquide, Cem Oral, is the man behind one of the greatest 90's electronic minds, 'Jammin' Unit'.

Blessed with pure talent and inhabitants of that strata of rarified air called genius. Aphex Twin, or some of those other pretentious postmodern equivalents of techno Derrida my ass. These are the artists that really turn whatever they touch into gold. Yeah, I just said that. Eat your heart out.

One of my all time favourite music artists! I have been listening to their music since the very start (1992) with the stunning Neue Frankfurter Electronik - Schule 12". I was instantly blown away with the sheer complexity and other worldly sounds and textures that they managed to create from sterile machines. Ingmar Koch and Cem Oral used to meet up and hold monthly LSD driven analogue jam sessions in the Ocean Blue basement studio, and the outcome of these sessions are the albums that i treasure dearly, Air Liquide- Air Liquide & Nephology -The New Religion. Both albums are a delve into the minds of two artists with absolutely no fear to test musical boundaries. Music to soothe, music to make you think and music to scare the living sh*t out of you!! Absolute legends!!

LOVE these guys. Met them through Khan (of Finland) in the 90s. They simply bent my mind every time I heard new/more material - or saw them perform (lucky me). They know machines like most people breathe... I don't know how else to express that. Musically intulitive on a "machine" level. They could probably make a banging' techno track with a toaster oven, weed wacker and an old effects box. Natural masters. Enjoy and LEARN from them if you can.

Air liquide is the missing link between Orbital, Biosphere and the underground. Synthesiser beauty combined with pounding acid. You never know where the next sound is coming from (or was it allready here all the time?)
