Pavel Valdgardt (1904–1978) was a Russian composer, pianist and conductor. He graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory in 1929 after studying with Maximilian Steinberg (composition) and Nicolai Malko (conducting). In 1929, Valdgardt was arrested for attending a religiously-philosophical circle 'Resurrection' in the twenties. He was sentenced to three years in the Solovki concentration camp.

After serving his sentence, from 1932 to 1947, Pavel Valdgardt worked as a conductor for local philharmonic orchestras and radio stations in Saratov, Stalingrad, Odessa, Voronezh, Rostov-on-Don, and Novosibirsk. He had been living in Moscow since 1961. The composer wrote three children's operas, numerous vocal and song cycles, music for theatrical performances, symphonic pieces and other works.
