Concerts devoted to Giedrius Alkauskas' music took place in Vilnius, Lithuania, in years 2006, 2009, 2011, and 2014. In 2011, the first CD "Into the dream and magic-sphere...", featuring a bass singer and a piano, was released. The second CD "Enchanted Time" was released in 2014. Alkauskas wrote song cycles "Walpurgis night" (four songs to the verses of J. W. Goethe), "While there is still a road..." (eight songs to the verses of J. Erlickas), "Child garden of songs" (six songs to the verses of R. L. Stevenson), "Enchanted palaces" (three songs to the lyrics from Lithuanian folk legends and a poem by E. A. Poe), two dance suites, chamber music, electronic music. The characterizing features of Alkauskas' music is stylization, harmonic language of the Late Romantic style, sudden harmonic progressions, static combinations of dissonant chords. His musical language is influenced by B. Bartók, M. P. Mussorgsky, N. A. Rimsky-Korsakov, R. Wagner, A. Dvořák, folk music of various cultural traditions, minimalism, neoclassicism, and impressionism.
