Satanic Preachers

Satanic Preachers

Satanic Preachers started as a HIgh School project back in the 80's. It went through various band members but the core of it was the brothers Asterath and Armageddron. Two demos were produced and only a couple of shows were played, but none with the actual band's conceptual music.

The band wasn't really accepted in their native Acapulco, a town at the time of mainly "cumbia" music and no metal scene whatsoever, but the few metal fans kept it alive, until the two brothers emigrated to Monterrey.

It was in Monterrey were they produced their second and last demo "Follow the Preacher." The music was heavily influenced by bands like Slayer, Metallica, Anthrax, Devastation, etc., and in spite of their name, none of the lyrics were satanic, but stories of gore and terror. The demo was mixed with two tape recorders a drum machine and a guitar. Surprisingly, besides the bad quality it received good reviews and it was featured on, the back then only national Metal magazine, "Metal Subterraneo" and various fanzines. The demo reached various countries in the world as far as Indonesia, Netherlands, Sweden, UK, Singapore and the Americas among others.

The band never got to find new members to support their demo and tour and shortly disbanded, but it remained a legend in their native Acapulco.

Armageddron - Guitars and music arrangements
