Spice Cadet, known as Ed Turbin has been producing and releasing electronic music for over 20 years. As native New Yorker Spice Cadet was deeply involved in the New York underground music scene during the early 00s as a DJ and producer. Several years ago he relocated to the musically rich city of London where his studio is based currently. Spice Cadet's initial release in the year 2000 entitled Psychosis is the final release on well respected and globally known Drop Bass Network's Ghetto Safari sublabel. This debut was released as a limited edition vinyl pressing and reflects on dark industrial sounds crossed with heavy metal broken beats and hugely distorted bass drops. Spice Cadet's collaboration with Brooklyn-based DJ Alex Pearce brought the tribal minimal peak time Techno banger Click Clack to life on Tamer Fouda's Quanza Records in 2012 and has been remixed and featured on several compilations and albums. Spice Cadet is an accomplished bass guitarist and multi-instrumentalist with decades of experience as a performer and studio musician. He often fuses layers of live instruments with synthetic electronic elements in his productions. Spice Cadet continues to cultivate atmospheric soundscapes with his signature hyper-melodic sound. Spice Cadet's subliminal beat-driven melodic electronic sound often blurs the line between sub-genres of house music and techno.
