William 'Bill' Church (born 9 December 1946) started out playing bass in a band called Sawbuck in 1969. As the band was beginning to record their first album, Ronnie Montrose and Church left Sawbuck to join Van Morrison on his album Tupelo Honey. After that he played bass with the band Montrose (2) on the debut album only. When Sammy Hagar left Montrose to create his own band, he played bass for Sammy Hagar on all releases in the 70's and 80's, while only appearing on selected recordings in the 90's and later.

His son is Trevor William Church, who performs with bands such as Beastmaker and Haunt (7).
