At the same time he started making music in his small private studio by overdubbing takes of several tape recorders. His compositions have been under influence of Tangerine Dream, Kitaro and Mike Oldfield.

When Roland Grimm took part in music contests, he used the alias POLYMOND to present his music.
He tryed to publish his songs under an independent label, but this label wanted to get the exclusive copyright. So he decided to produce small editions of his first album POLYMOND as CDr, which he distributed himself.
