John Duesenberry

John Duesenberry is an American electroacoustic and electronic composer from Brookline, Massachusetts. He is one of the founders of Boston School of Electronic Music (BSEM) in the 1970s, which became the first independent school of electronic music in the United States. Duesenberry studied composition at Boston University with Joyce Mekeel, Allan Schindler, and John Goodman. He earned his master's degree in music after studying with Robert Stern of the University of Massachusetts at Amherst.

After working as a director at BSEM, Duesenberry left to study computer music at MIT. Currently, he works as a software engineer and composes music in his personal studio. Duesenberry's music has been widely performed in USA, Europe and Australia. He has been an Artists Foundation Fellow and a resident at the Millay Colony for the Arts. Duesenberry published many articles in Computer Music Journal and Electronic Musician.
