"Television has been very instrumental in the creation of Inocentes M.C.," says Claudio Alvarado, leader of the Latin Urbano group, "when the concept of creating the group was only an idea, I had the opportunity of meeting Univision 41 TV weatherman Luis Velasco, and thanks to him we had the opportunity of introducing the group on the popular show 'Sabado Al Mediodia.' To me this was one of the key moments of my career."
Claudio, who is a bright and dynamic young man, says that he is very happy with the other two members of the group, Fresh and Papote. "They are like brothers, and are aware of the importance of team work'. The three are talented composers.
Born in Santo Domingo, the capital city of the Dominican Republic, on November 8th, Claudio moved to the United States in 1990 to Union City, New Jersey. His first priority was to study the English language, which he now speaks fluently. Soon after he received training in computer science before moving on to fulfill his dream in the music industry.
As for Fresh, he was also born in the Dominican Republic and moved to the United States at a very young age. Papote who's parents are of Dominican and Puerto Rican heritage states that "our brotherhood has a basis in music, especially the rhythms of modern youth." Fresh believes that "art and blood are very strong links" when it comes to creating music as you collaborate as a close knit family.
What inspired these young men to create the kind of music?? "Really," Claudio responds, "we are young people who represent the essence of today's young Latin American world—with all its musical influences." And that musical message of Inocentes M.C. goes directly to the heart of the people that has welcomed them with so much enthusiasm.
