Singer-songwriter from Scotland Neck, North Carolina.
Raised in Brooklyn, New York, Harvey made her recording debut as Connie Laverne in 1974.
In the late 1970s she was studio vocalist in New York (often with her friend, Jocelyn Brown), collaborating with Ecstasy, Passion & Pain on three unreleased tracks and providing backing vocals for Teddy Pendergrass as one of his "Teddy Bears", alongside Harriet Tharpe.
Paradise Garage favourite Black Mamba - Vicious, mixed by Larry Levan, featured Harvey's uncredited vocals.
She is best known as a house music vocalist with releases in the 1990s on labels such as Eightball Records and Bassline Records.
