Edgar Hilliar

Organist Edgar Hilliar received his early organ instruction under G. Huntington Byles of Trinity Church, New Haven. He studied at the Longy School of Music at Cambridge, Massachusetts under E. Power Biggs. He was organist of the Church of St. Mary the Virgin, New York, for five years. In 1948 he studied in Paris under Maurice Durufle and Rollande Falcenelli. Subsequently he was appointed organist of St. Mark's Episcopal Church, Mount Kisco, New York and served as instructor in organ at Manhattanville College of the Sacred Heart and Pius X School of Liturgical Music.
