Mr. Hughs (S3RL) has come a very long way in popularity since I first heard his tracks back in 2008. His releases have been consistent, explosive, and devastating on the dancefloor.
However, that's the problem. S3RL has played a defining role in the downhill spiral of happy hardcore in the most recent years. Earlier cuts have been creative and powerful. All of his releases showed promise for the future, a producer and DJ that could change hardcore forever and finally revive the tarnished name. Sadly, combinations of repetitive leads and themes in his music that have been copied again and again by happy and UK hardcore artists make his newer releases increasingly predictable. Considering his originally divergent yet pure style has morphed into something of a oriental / main room mash. Just listen to Princess Bubblegum, Nightcore This, I Will Pick You Up, Da De Da and some others. All lack innovation that Pretty Rave Girl, God Is Not A DJ, We All Scream, etc.. had in abundance. His recent tracks have nothing to show for them except an ultra-cultish fanbase and incessant playback on hardcore sets. Jole just needs to slow down, re-listen to his older songs, and put a little more care into production.

When the question is raised about who has made more of an impact in hardcore in recent years, S3RL is definitely right up there at the top. With hardcore becoming more & more popular and the amount of producers on the rise, its becoming more & more difficult to have your own style, but S3RL has done alot more than prove that it can be done. With his driving basslines and eratic leads, he has definitely put his own personal stamp on the sound of hardcore worldwide.

From early projects such as "Back In My Life", "Bad Boy" etc, through to huge worldwide slammers such as "Pretty Rave Girl" & "Little Kandi Raver" and then on to recent huge ones such as "Break Em", "Green Hills" & "In My Life", Jole's form has been one of the most consistent in hardcore without a shadow of a doubt.

I really hope there's a lot more to come from this amazing Australian artist!

Track after Track, Extremely high quality. Unbeleivable Uplifting Synth Melodies, Driving Bass and a Hardcore Beat. S3RL has even managed to create his own signiture sound, characterized by his High Pitched, Stabbing Leads. every track he has managed to complete is absolutely brilliant in every way. Absolutely amazing tracks such as "Keep On Raving, Slut, Weekend Has Come, Weekend, Pretty Rave Girl, Stay, God Is Not A DJ, Butterfly, Alternative" Oh i could go on forever. In my opinion, Hardcore has never seen anyone like this.

Just look out for him in the future, just you wait.
