Peter Biljo was born in Petrograd, Russia. (later leningrad, and St. Petersburg) He performed in New York as early as 1926 with Nadiejda Plevitzkaia and pianist Max Rabinovitch. He became the director of Russian music at CBS and performed on multiple Russian music themed programs on the Columbia radio network from 1928 to 1934. That list includes Around the Samovar, In a Russian Village and The Balalaika Orchestra aka Samovar Serenade. He died on September 4th, 1963.
