Loungy trip-hop from Portland, OR, with Femme Fatale Vocals and a penchant for Dub and Spy movie soundtracks. Consisting of former members of Thinner, Crucifix, and Loudspeaker, Imogene got together in 1997 to combine a number of ambient noises and trip-hop beats. Without the use of loud guitars and pounding drums, the members of Kevin Friedman (guitar), Christo Douglas (drums), Jennifer Folker (vocalist), and Mitch Brown (bass) wanted to create more of a suave but reclined feel as the band started playing throughout their native of Portland, OR, in 1998. Two years later, Imogene self-released their first album, entitled Underdub.
