I'm not sure if it's fair to call Marco Shuttle just a "techno producer" at this point. His recent releases have really pushed the limits as far as the synthesis of electronic and organic sounds into something that is completely unique. I'd love to hear him play a DJ set where he can explore his style completely. "Cobalt Desert Oasis" was one of the best records of the last year and sounds like something that a modernist Psychick Warriors ov Gaia or O Yuki Conjugate "dark ethnic ambient" act might produce with attention to the most modern production methods. One of my favorite producers of the last decade without a shadow of a doubt!

Yes, Marco is the man in terms of truly Avantgarde Psychedelic Techno. Not "Avantgarde" as in cold and soulless, but as in pushing boundaries and sincere curiosity. Not "Psychedelic" as in k-hole insanity or childish overemphasis on drug references, but pure and mature, dynamic, emotive, otherworldly, colorful and holistic. Not "Techno" as any clichéed copy-paste subgenre, but as in bridging classic 808's and 303's into totally new territories.

I have yet to hear him work his magic behind the decks IRL, but the recorded mixes I've heard online are just spot on. Everybody's praising Dozzy, Neel and Tozzi, but personally I feel Marco Shuttle is the real unsung hero of the modern Italian wave of "deep techno".

marco is still the man for classy, acidic, hypnotic, dubby psychedelic techno. Especially given that many people have sadly gone down the goa trance shitter. Learn from a real master of the craft and his extended sets on how to trip with class and integrity!
