Hands down one of the finest hard house producers on the block, hailing from Bromley (Kent) I picked up my first slab of Equinox vinyl back in 1999 (The Zero Zero EP) probably in the now defunct XSF records in London's Soho. A firm favorite, it wasn't until many years later that I stumbled across his Tranzmit releases - and what a roster of tunes. From Immure to Assimilation, this is an artist with some serious talent producing some of the most beautiful hooks and melodies I've ever heard.

The Tranzmit/Waxxworx releases all flow on a trance vibe, with the Tonka Tracks (and later work) all leaning towards a harder house sound, similar in style to Jon Doe - hard, experimental, and very well produced. There's a clear distinction between the labels. It's also worth checking out some his remixes from the earlier days for more of his trance oriented tunes.

Certainly up there with the likes of Weirdo on the Tinrib label (a contemporary at the time) and, just like Weirdo - he's an artist who seems to have vanished into the ether with just a few scant productions since the halcyon days of hard house in the late 90's early 2000's. Luckily most of their seminal tunes can be picked up for pennies nowadays - hardly justice, but great for the hard house/trance enthusiast.

Not just recommended - some of these tunes are downright essential.

There's a great interview with Jason Burgess (Equinox) about his days running a record shop in Victoria (Elite records?) - a simple Google search and you'll find it.

And I always had a deep seated loathing for Bromley! (Growing up in equally as boring Beckenham) - Nice to know something great came out of it :) Consider my hat proverbially eaten.
