What a unique artist Ian Dury was! I never tire of listening to his albums, from "New Boots....." through to "Ten More Turnips...." there are gems aplenty on all of them, one of Britain's best lyricist's ever in my opinion - funny, rude, observant and heartbreaking but never boring. He always had great musicians around him too, the Blockheads are an amazing band quite unlike any other.
Sadly missed but thank God for reissues of his albums so that we can still enjoy his brilliance,
"There Ain't Half Been Some Clever Bastards" indeed!
