American jazz pianist and arranger, born August 17, 1908 in Williamsport, Pennsylvania, died October 11, 1975 in Philadelphia. Co-writer of "Lover Man".
Played with Alphonse Trent, Al Sears, Stuff Smith, Lil Armstrong, Putney Dandridge and others. From 1938 to 1952 Sherman worked as an accompaninst and arranger for vocal group The Charioteers.
