Mysterious and charming lady. She joined Swans after having become obsessed with their first LP. In the early period she was mainly regarded as Michael Gira's hot girlfriend, but in the 1990s her role into Swans grew till nearly half of each of the band's records were coming out of her hands. But, already in the late 1980s' her wonderful voice was revealed in the Skin side-project, particularly in the seducing "Blood, Women, Roses". Her solo works, from "13 Masks" to "Sacrificial Cake" and the latest collaborations with Neurosis and Larsen, show the multi-faced talent of a strong and inspired woman. To me, she stands next to Diamanda Galas and few other dark ladies in music. And, oh!, how beautiful she is (I have a weakness for her, that's understood).
