Moodena’s success over the last five years has been nothing short of prodigious. His meteoric rise to being ever present at the pinnacle of both the disco & Nu Disco charts has seen him become one of the most in demand DJ/ producers across the globe. Delving a little deeper, Moodena has in fact earned his disco stripes the hard way, through nearly 30 years of non-stop efforts working in the music industry. Notably, he was co-founder of the hugely influential MN2S, an independent trailblazer in all aspects of the electronic music industry,running events, a DJ Agency/Management and Label distribution. In 2018, Moodena brought that incredible industry experience to Tropical Disco Records, developing the label into one of the most influential labels powering Disco’s current renaissance. Moodena has built an insatiable following along the way for his releases, with legendary selectors regularly supporting his work including Dave Lee FK Joey Negro, Folamour, Danny Krivit, Chez Damier, Louie Vega, Kenny Dope and Soul Clap to name a few.
Over the last few years there have been a landslide of chart bound releases and accolades for both Moodena and Tropical Disco, who were label of the year at the OGV awards in 2021. Moodena has clocked up multiple best producer nominations and more than 25 Traxsource genre No 1’s and 70+ Top 10’s alongside millions of streams on Spotify. He was also crowned Traxsource Nu Disco Atist Of The Year two years in a row 2019 and 2020. Moodena’s chart-topping qualities have also seen him become hugely sought after as a remixer with recent stand out remixes for Dave Lee on Z Records, Rhyze and John Davis, both on legendary New York label Nervous, ‘The Destroyer’ for Soul Central, and Bellaire’s ‘Sunset Ballad’.
Despite such impressive studio prowess Moodena is perhaps most at home in the DJ booth, seamlessly combining everything from Disco and US Garage to house and Techno. His ability to fully connect with the crowd have seen him play everywhere from Elrow’s Festival in Croatia to Printworks in London to Soho House in Rome and Istanbul, Curfew Festival in Belgium and Heidegluhen in Berlin, one of the globes quintessential underground tastemaker clubs. He has also toured extensively in Mexico and toured India for the first time in October 2023. His stand-out Moodena Presents nights have become London staples booking legends and upstarts alike, including Dave Lee (AKA Joey Negro), The Shapeshifters, Kirollus, Young Pulse, Ray Mang, Mighty Mouse (RIP), CJ Mackintosh, Art of Tones to name a few. With Moodena currently back in the studio working his magic on a fresh batch of disco classics and multiple international tours already confirmed it’s safe to say that his success will continue for many years to come.
