Profile:

Photographer
Drew Carolan is a Project Developer at DCL in Los Angeles.
He brings creative passionate people together to build the future. Drew was born and raised on the Lower East Side on New York City. He has been making photographic works since 1973. His attraction to art started when he discovered graffiti in the early 70's. Writers like Super Kool 223, Stay High 149, Cool Cliff, and Dino Nod were super heroes to him. The work of masters Rene Magritte, Edward Steichen, and Lisette Model inspired him to study art. Drew Carolan graduated from SUNY New Paltz with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Photography. Drew served as a photographic assistant to Richard Avedon from 1983 to 1985 and helped him complete the book In The American West. Avedon taught him that the road is endless.
Along the way, Drew worked as a photographer for MTV Networks and Interview Magazine. He has photographed more than a dozen independent feature films and numerous DVD and record covers. As a director and producer, he has created many public service announcements as well as music videos, commercials, and documentary films.
DCL, where Drew currently works, is a leading fabricator of architectural specialties - including custom signage, rebranding, wayfinding, and themed entertainment. DCL partners with architects and designers to custom-engineer the right solutions for each project. Their experience and expertise spans globally, and DCL provides custom solutions for the Academic, Athletic, Healthcare, Hospitality, Retail, and Transportation industries.
