Profile:

Swedish jazz composer and trumpet player, born May 10, 1978 in Sandviken.

He has studied at the Jazz High School in Gävle, Skurup Folk High School and the Royal College of Music, Stockholm, and is primarily known as a jazz musician. He released his first solo album, aptly named Debut, in 2008.

Outside of jazz, Janson has made himself known as a soloist and background player on several pop and rock records and you can hear him on recordings with Hello Saferide, Louise Hoffsten, Anna Stadling and Idde Schultz, Mando Diao and also on the theme for the 2008 Christmas calendar (Skägget i brevlådan). He is a regular member of the Stockholm Jazz Orchestra and Calle Real and is often heard with Hoffmaestro.

Nils Janson is the nephew of jazz and blues singer Claes Janson.
