Dion & The Belmonts
Profile: | Originally a trio called "The Belmonts" they were an American doo-wop group from the Bronx, New York, that incorporated the name of the street "Belmont Street" that all of the original members lived on at the time. In 1957 they released their 1st single Santa Margherita / Teen-Age Clementine and in 1958 they evolved into Dion & The Belmonts when Dion (3) joined the trio making them into a quartet. Around 1961 Dion went separates ways from the Belmonts and they signed on with Sabina Records, while Dion stayed with Laurie Records.
