Charles Tobias
Profile: | American songwriter (born August 15, 1898, New York City, New York, USA – died July 7, 1970, Manhasset, Long Island, New York, USA), grew up in Massachusetts with his brothers Harry Tobias and Henry Tobias, also songwriters. Started his musical career in vaudeville. In the 1930s he formed a revue Songwriters on Parade. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, he wrote together with Cliff Friend "We Did It Before And We Can Do It Again" to reminding US of World War I. From 1929 to the 1960s, he contributed songs for a number of musicals, such as Manhattan Melodrama n The Daughter Of Rosie O'Grady. He was Inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1970.
