Mark Kazanoff

Profile:

Austin, Texas jazz and blues saxophonist, arranger, and record producer born 10/14/1949 in Northampton, Massachusetts.

He started playing the harmonica at age 12 and in his twenties, the saxophone became his main instrument. He has gone on to play on and produce over 200 Records and CD’s. He taught High School for many years at St. Stephen’s Episcopal School in Austin and continues to play gigs around Texas with Jimmie Vaughan, Marcia Ball, WC Clark, and many others. In 1997, Kaz started The Texas Horns, a three-piece horn section that is featured annually at Festivals like the Ottawa Blues Fest.

Affiliated for many years with Blues labels like Blacktop, Alligator, Rounder, and Antones, Kaz continues to record and produce music.
