The Swedish soprano Marika Schönberg is one of the leading singers at Oper Leipzig, where she has appeared in roles like Pamina in Die Zauberflöte, Contessa in Le nozze di Figaro, Donna Anna in Don Giovanni, Vitella in La clemenza di Tito, Mimì in La Bohème, Antonia in Les Contes d’Hoffmann, Micaëla in Carmen, Chrysothemis in Elektra, Tania at the world premiere production of Philippe Hersant’s Der Schwarze Mönch, Jenny Smith in Aufsteig und Fall der Stadt Mahagonny, Irene in Rienzi, Freia in Das Rheingold, Tatiana in Eugene Onegin and the title role in Jenufa.
Marika Schönberg studied at the Royal Academy of Music and at the University College of Opera in Stockholm. She made her debut as Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro at the Royal Swedish Opera.
