Jeff Tyler can be described as one of the most groundbreaking DJs in Australia and the principle exponent of the techno scene in his hometown of Melbourne. As a DJ, Tyler was single handedly responsible for the popularity explosion of Trance In Melbourne in 1992, being the first to drop the rave anthems in favor of the new sound onto an eager audience. Quickly other DJs followed and Trance became one of the most popular buzzwords around town.

Since then Tyler has delved into many and varied sounds as the boundaries of dance continue to expand, with only one self-imposed rule to be followed, that whatever finds its way onto his slipmats must be upfront and unique-the best of its kind. Djing is literally Tyler’s obsession and its legacy is one of the most extensive and comprehensive record collections in Australia. His music has often been described by punters as ‘expeditionary’; starting off in one place and leading somewhere totally different, but consistently bringing his audience back down with that big, sweaty smile on their collective faces.

He has held permanent slots at various clubs and as the main resident is responsible for keeping "Climax", (one of the longest-running techno club in Melbourne) open for business. Climax pulls in 250+ people per week, no mean feat, considering it’s held on a Tuesday night! As well as playing the club circuit and major dance parties around Melbourne (Hardware, Galaxy, Agent Mad, Future Entertainment, ect) also appeared in every major city in Australia as interstate promoters have learned of his infamous reputation for intuitively knowing what every crowd wants. In the 91/2 years Jeff has been Djing he has played with all the big names. The likes of Laurent Garnier, Sven Vath, CJ Bolland, Pascal F.E.O.S., Carl Cox, Derrick May, Dave Angel, Sneak Derek Carter, Richie Hawtin, Stacey Pullen, Oliver Lieb, , Quazar Cosmic Baby to name a few.

1996 Tyler along with fellow Dj will e Tell decided to take a Short holiday to Europe for 3 months, hoping to find a gig all 2. Well once Oliver Lieb had heard that Tyler And Will were in town he insisted that they be special international support Dj’s for liebs LSG tour. 3 months turned into 9 months with more then 23 performances throughout Europe. Tyler was accepted extremely well in Europe, as he was asked to come back and Dj as soon as possible. Mid 97 Tyler returned for another European tour, all in all 47 gigs were completed in 6 months. He played at some of the worlds famous clubs and parties the likes Turnmills (home of Trade) Lakota club Q club, Dorian Gray, Palazzo, The Temple, Groove Land (in front of 40,000 patrons), The Lemon Club, Unit Club, Ambasada Gavioli & plenty more.

Tyler’s affinity with music established itself at an early age when he discovered the trumpet. This was reborn as an intense passion much later with the purchase of his first synthesizer (a KORG Poly-6) – Tyler having been so affected by dance music that he was intent on patenting his own sound.
