Club Nouveau

Profile:

American synth-soul group popular in the late 1980s and early 1990s. Jay King formed the group in Sacramento, California, in 1986, following the breakup of Timex Social Club. The group was nominated for a Grammy for Best R&B Performance in 1987.

Early members Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy left after the debut album to become one of the most successful production and songwriting teams, known as Foster & McElroy, in the late 1980's soul and R&B scenes.
