The film Girl 6 and friends for sale featured a lot of masters of Vanity stuff but he wrote it all and claimed to have all originals album from all the eras including hers in the vaults . She threw away all the Vanity stuff but found more boxes perhaps from Prince . I would expect that the heirs have a hell of a estate tax and will release an Anthology type box hopefully with Sheila E involved , its a lot of her percussion and its all probably a mess worth around a Billion .

I have to think that
contrary to the Discogs bio, Vanity left the Prince camp during (and not before) the filming of 'Purple Rain.' In an early scene in the movie, the name "Apollonia" is very obviously dubbed over when Morris Day mentions the name "Vanity." I have to wonder how different the movie would have been if Vanity had been in 'Purple Rain' rather than Apollonia.

Vanity is a Canadian Artist who moved to America to work with prince, her early work is somewhat hard to find, she became a born again Christian preacher in America and all her early collection (master tapes) supposedly were destroyed by her authority

Have to agree with user "vanity6" there: the demo version of Sex Shooter, although almost impossible to find as far as I know, schools the version Apollonia 6 recorded. It's long, darker, much more electro and funky, and has a call-and-response chant thing going on in the end: "New York!" "Uh huh?" "I want you to count to eight." "Eight!" "As soon as I get undressed y'all clap your hands okay?" "Okay!" Sho'nuff funky goodness.

If you like Vanity 6, download the song "Vibrator". It was recorded for the "Vanity 6" album, but was left off. It would have fit perfectly, as it has the same new wave/funk beat, and saucy lyrics. Yes, it's about what you think it is, with a hilarious cameo by Prince in the breakdown and Vanity once again perfecting her moans. There is also a demo version by Vanity of Apollonia 6's "Sex Shooter" that should be looked for. I think it's better than Apollonia's version...
