Born 10th September 1941 Nottingham, England; died 24th September 2014, Cambridge, England.
English conductor, harpsichordist, writer and musicologist. Co-founder with David Munrow of The Early Music Consort Of London (1967-1976). After Munrow's death, Hogwood founded The Academy Of Ancient Music, serving as Music Director from 1973-2006. He was Artistic Director of The Handel & Haydn Society Of Boston from 1986 to 2001.
Awarded Commander of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 1989.
