In addition to being the featured vocalist for many of Frankie Knuckles House anthems, Richards is a much in demand backing and sessions vocalist. She has recorded and performed for the past several years with Madonna, Mariah Carey, Whitney Houston, Mick Jagger, Tina Turner, Michael Jackson, Gloria Estefan, Céline Dion, Stevie Wonder, Linda Ronstadt, Mary J. Blige, Missy Elliott, Lenny Kravitz, ULTRA NATÉ, Anastacia, Bette Midler, Maxi Priest and the Rev. Al Green just to name a few.

She has also starred in films such as Colorz of Rage, appeared in television commercials and in several theatre productions, including the late Cy Coleman's Like Jazz in Los Angeles, Jim Steinman's Over The Top on the East Coast, the Penumbra Theatre's Spunk by Zora Neale Hurston and Beehive in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area. She released her own album on Atlantic Records, Naked (To The World) which she wrote and co-produced. Nicki was a Grand Prize Winner on Star Search and has performed on the children's television show Between The Lions on PBS.

Richards currently lives in Manhattan where she does studio and jingle work when she's not touring.
