Formed : 1986 // Camberley, England, United Kingdom
Disbanded : 1992
U.K. pop band from the second half of the 1980's. The band consisted of twin brothers Matt Goss and Luke Goss and Craig Logan who all attended Collingwood School in Camberley. The band was managed by former Pet Shop Boys manager Tom Watkins. Had tremendous success all over Europe with their debut album "Push". In 1989 Craig Logan left the band by his own choice, and Matt and Luke continued on, releasing a second album called "The Time".
The Goss twins then became involved in a legal battle with their manager due to a hidden clause in their contract which left them out of pocket. They released just one other album, "Changing Faces", before they agreed on ending the band.

Well, I'm of maybe the few to defend their 2nd album "Time". it's full of excellent songs and some are simply beautiful. More balanced, a bit more mature than the first album. Interestingly, it's not my kind of stlye but I love that album so there must be something in there...

If there was a proper in-depth study on 'boy-bands' history, Bros (alongside NKOTB) should be claimed as one of the first inaugurators of the genre - pin-up stars wrapped up hype to their necks with a whole set of additional features (most notably 'Brosettes')... BUT if you take out the boy-band effect from Bros then you can see their debut album 'Push' as confusing piece of quite solidly structured pop pieces that might have affected a certain Blink 182 (after all, they played bass, drums and 'matt')... Songs like 'Ten Out Of Ten', 'Love To Hate You', 'It's a Jungle Out There' and most notably 'Cat Among the Pigeons' stand as an interesting choice to their shortliving success after which the band split with Craig Logan, went bankrupt and ended in mysterious ways (with two extremely horribly awful later albums). Nothing short of a sensation, Bros ended as quickly as they started - 'Push' could be recommended to teens but what's the use, there are plenty of faceless copycats out there already...
