A Chicago House legend..how he didnt become huge is a mystery. Also had some releases on Trax n Dj. International under different names in the late 80's early 90's. Toured and djed with Daft Punk, Moby, Carl Cox..Daft Punk even stated in magazine interview that his set at Even Furthur 1996 was one of the best dj sets thet ever heard. Dave along with legends like Spencer Kincey (Gemini), Dj Skull, Steve Poindexter, Mike Dearborn, Mystic Bill all disapeared without a trace. Guess you gotta move on sometime..much respect

For those who dont know..The original Davey Dave from Chicago is one of the early innovators and pioneers of the contemporary dance scene (House/Techno). Growin up in Park Ridge he started djing in his earl teens( he went to high school with Mark Farina). He promoted and played in the early days alongside Farley "Jackmaster" Funk, Bad Boy Bill, Mario Diaz, Kenny "jammin" Jason in the northside clubs. Dj Sneak hired him to work at Hip House Records at the Brickyard (At the time Hip House also employed Rick Garcia and a young Dj Halo)
He made some stints at clubs like Shelter, Medusas, and Foxys on Mondays (a gay niteclub that was the first to showcase djs like Derrick Carter, Mark Farina, Mystic Bill, Spencer Kincy, and Miles Maeda) etc. etc.
But his clame to fame was the early loft and warehouse scene in Chicago. he was part of the second wave of legendary chicago djs that graced the walls of the legendary Milwaukee Ave parties (1355, 1471, thats all you had to say back then)Djs included of course Farina, Carter, Kincy, Maeda, Mystic, Diz, Gene Farris, Mike Pierce, Justin Long, Lego, Frique, Jevon Jackson, Traxx, Josh Werner, Scott Song..im sure i missed a few
Dave also turned out to be one of the original Rave promoters here in the states and along with Mystic Bill is responsible for bringing Chicago House out of Chicago and into the bedrooms of suburban kids all over the Mid-West and Beyond..
In 1993 him and Bill formed the House Preservation Society. a crew that included throughout the years legends like Gene Farris, Boo Williams, Glen Underground, K. Alexi, Tim Harper and of course Dj Traxx. HPS was the first to showcase chicago djs like Paul Johnson, Robert Armani, Mike Dearborn, Steve Pondexter,Mike Dunn, Gene Hunt, and also the first Chicago apprearence of Detroits Underground Resistance, Carl Craig, Dj, Bone, Claude Young, Kevin Saunderson, Blake Baxter, Aztec Mystic, and James Pennington..(again i missed a few)Parties like the HOME series 1994, 95,96,97..Jack the Nation 1996,1999, And the Chicago VS Detroit warehouse parties....you had to be there..He promted over 50 large scale events in the Midwest and djd hundreds of parties all over the US and Europe..
Dave mysteriously walked away from the scene in the early 2000's but is rumored to popping up for an HPS Reunion..Keep and eye out and show the dude some respect..we owe it to him...
