Wrote the huge 1921 hit "Wabash Blues" (with lyrics by Dave Ringle), which became a jazz standard. Also collaborated on "Virginia Blues" (1922, with Ernie Erdman) and "Clover Blossom Blues" (1922, with Ernie Erdman and Gilbert Keyes).
