Emerging from the labyrinth of Liverpool’s abundant musical wealth, POWER first came to the nations attention with their debut single “Work Hard” after being signed to Arista Records in 1985. This widely acclaimed single and video received heavy airplay on Radio One and the band went on to release three further critically acclaimed singles on Arista Records.
As music styles changed by the late 80’s and early 90’s the nucleus of POWER, Richard Jackman and Mark Lewis moved on to form The Devil Dudes and later the Crash Babies who landed a worldwide publishing deal with Warner/Chappell and performed around Britain in the early 90’s.
Jackman then emigrated with his family to New Zealand where he still resides, writing and performing with his newly formed Kiwi incarnation of POWER. Lewis continued in the music business and today has his own record company B-Unique.
